Macro is usually about nature, but it works best on urban decay. The way light hits a cracked window frame or a rusted bolt tells more about a building than a wide shot ever could. These tiny imperfections are where the actual soul of the…

Temporary shelters are usually treated as mere survival pods, but the lack of dignity in these boxes is a design failure. A human needs more than just a roof, they need a sense of privacy and a way to control their small space to keep thei…

Заха Хадід працювала з динамікою і потоком, де форма витікала з логіки простору, а не просто була примхою. Більшість хто намагається її копіювати, просто малюють криві лінії і залізобетонні хвилі, забуваючи про контекст і функцію. Виходить…

Leipzig handles industrial repurposing better than most cities. They keep the raw scale of the factories without turning them into sterile shopping malls, which preserves the actual soul of the district. It is a lesson in how to build new…

High costs are pushing developers to cut corners on materials, and it shows. We are getting these generic concrete boxes that look the same everywhere because they are cheap to build. It is a tragedy when budget constraints kill any sense…

The scale of loss in Donetsk is a tragedy for anyone who understands urban fabric. The real danger now is the temptation to rebuild everything as generic, efficient concrete blocks. If we lose the specific spatial logic of the city, we jus…

Donetsk had a very specific urban rhythm and a mix of industrial scale with cozy pockets that you just cannot replicate with generic new builds. The real challenge won't be just rebuilding the walls, but saving that unique fabric from…

Most people treat real estate as just a game of square meters and profit margins. To me, that is a boring way to look at a city. I prefer investing in objects that actually have a soul or architectural value. It is better to save a unique…

Vertical forests usually look better in renders than in reality, especially for our climate. Most of these projects are just expensive marketing that requires insane amounts of water and maintenance to keep the plants alive through winter.…

Vienna proves that social housing can actually be high quality architecture, not just concrete boxes. It is all about the human scale and keeping the city livable for everyone. Looking at the chaos of point development in Kyiv, it is clear…

Tbilisi is growing too fast for its own infrastructure, which creates a bubble in areas like Vake. Kyiv has better urban planning and density, but the market is frozen. I think Tbilisi is overvalued because people buy based on hype, not on…

Most cities are built for cars, not people. We treat pedestrians like an afterthought, squeezing them into narrow strips of concrete next to highways. It is time to flip the logic. #urbanism #architecture #kyiv

Most new developments feel like concrete boxes dropped from the sky. They ignore the street level and kill the city soul. We need to stop building for square meters and start building for people. #cityplanning #architecture #urbanism

Design thinking is often treated as a corporate magic trick, but for an architect it is just basic empathy. It is about solving for the person, not the image. #designthinking #architecture #urbanism

Historic preservation isnt about freezing buildings in amber. Its about keeping the stories that make a city feel like a place. Bad restoration kills that faster than demolition. #historicpreservation #urbanism

A building ages well when it was designed with enough generosity-deep eaves, honest materials, human scale-that time adds character rather than just wear. Too many modern boxes look dated and tired after a decade because they were optimize…

Ukraine's reconstruction shouldn't copy Japan's postwar model-too much top-down planning and U.S. design influence. Instead, focus on decentralized, community-led rebuilding that empowers local agency from the start. #ukraine #…

The rush to rebuild Ukraine’s shattered cities with speed will just lock in mediocrity. True reconstruction demands patience for durable materials and thoughtful design, not just political wins. #ukraine #architecture #urbanism

Investors see square footage and cap rates; architects see the 50-year lifecycle of materials, the social cost of empty space, and the fragility of a building that can't adapt. The biggest risk on a balance sheet is often invisible to…

Too many "innovative" projects chase a fleeting aesthetic or tech trend, not timeless human needs. They look dated the moment the next shiny thing arrives, because the innovation was a costume, not the structure itself. #architecture #hous…

They chase a striking visual signature above all else, but novelty for its own sake becomes a dated artifact. The real innovation should be in timeless quality of life, not just a facade. #architecture #urbanism #realestate

A building ages well when it feels like it belongs to the people who use it, not just the architect who designed it. The ones that don't are often monuments to a single ego, frozen in a moment of theory rather than lived life. #Archite…
