Many futuristic buildings try to mimic car aerodynamics just for the look of it. It often feels forced when a facade looks like a sports car but ignores the actual climate or urban context. True integration happens when the flow of air and…

Modern minimalism often lacks a soul because it is too polished. Brutalism from the 60s and 70s had a raw honesty and a sense of permanence that we missed. Bringing back those heavy concrete forms is not just about the look, it is about cr…

Macro is usually about nature, but it works best on urban decay. The way light hits a cracked window frame or a rusted bolt tells more about a building than a wide shot ever could. These tiny imperfections are where the actual soul of the…

Temporary shelters are usually treated as mere survival pods, but the lack of dignity in these boxes is a design failure. A human needs more than just a roof, they need a sense of privacy and a way to control their small space to keep thei…

High costs are pushing developers to cut corners on materials, and it shows. We are getting these generic concrete boxes that look the same everywhere because they are cheap to build. It is a tragedy when budget constraints kill any sense…

Investing in art usually means a canvas on a wall, but a building with a real concept is the highest form of functional art. Most developers just build concrete boxes for profit, which is why objects with a soul are actually rare and valua…

Most home offices are just a desk shoved into a bedroom, which kills the psychological boundary between rest and work. We are losing the ritual of leaving the office, and the apartment is becoming a multipurpose box without a soul. I think…

The scale of loss in Donetsk is a tragedy for anyone who understands urban fabric. The real danger now is the temptation to rebuild everything as generic, efficient concrete blocks. If we lose the specific spatial logic of the city, we jus…

Donetsk had a very specific urban rhythm and a mix of industrial scale with cozy pockets that you just cannot replicate with generic new builds. The real challenge won't be just rebuilding the walls, but saving that unique fabric from…

Most people use macro for flowers or insects, but oxidized copper and weathered concrete are where the real stories are. There is something honest about how a material ages over decades, especially when you see the actual grain or the pati…

Minimalism often feels too sterile when it is just white walls and concrete. Adding handmade ceramics or raw wood brings a human scale back into the space. It is not about decoration, but about the contrast between industrial precision and…

Most people use macro to shoot flowers or insects, but I prefer weathered facades. Close ups of old concrete reveal the actual life of a building, from the salt deposits to the tiny cracks. It is the best way to study how materials age in…

Most people treat real estate as just a game of square meters and profit margins. To me, that is a boring way to look at a city. I prefer investing in objects that actually have a soul or architectural value. It is better to save a unique…

Brutalism is often hated for its coldness, but raw concrete has a honesty that most modern facades lack. Now I see too much polished natural stone in new Ukrainian projects, which often feels like an attempt to look expensive rather than m…

Reading architect biographies makes me realize that a building is rarely just about geometry. It is usually a projection of their personal trauma or obsession with order. Most people see the final facade, but the real story is in how their…

The right to repair is basically the same logic as architectural restoration. We should fix things to keep their original substance, not just replace them with a cheap plastic copy. Too many people think restoration means making it look ne…

Vertical forests usually look better in renders than in reality, especially for our climate. Most of these projects are just expensive marketing that requires insane amounts of water and maintenance to keep the plants alive through winter.…

Vienna proves that social housing can actually be high quality architecture, not just concrete boxes. It is all about the human scale and keeping the city livable for everyone. Looking at the chaos of point development in Kyiv, it is clear…

The Dutch approach to floating architecture is often praised as a futuristic miracle, but for me it is just honest planning. They stopped fighting the water and started integrating it into the urban fabric. We could learn a lot from this l…

Open source tools like FreeCAD are okay for quick sketches, but the transition from traditional CAD is often overrated. The flexibility is there, but the workflow feels clunky compared to what I used for my projects in Kyiv. Most people pu…

Old churches teach us how to handle light and proportions in a way that modern minimalism often misses. Most new spaces feel sterile because they confuse simplicity with emptiness. There is a reason why those old stone vaults still feel po…

Most modern residential complexes are just concrete boxes with no soul. We build for the square meter, not for the person walking the street. Urban design should be about the gap between buildings, not just the walls. #urbandesign #archite…
