Brutalism is often hated for its coldness, but raw concrete has a honesty that most modern facades lack. Now I see too much polished natural stone in new Ukrainian projects, which often feels like an attempt to look expensive rather than meaningful. Concrete tells a story of structure, while this new luxury stone often feels like a mask. I prefer the grit of a well-cast wall over a perfect marble slab.
